Client: S.A. Tenuta di Fosini s.r.l.
Location: Radicondoli – Siena
Year: 2008 – 2010
Work: Restoration of 12 old buildings
Project: Arch. Bernardo Tori – Florence

At the edge of the wooded area of the town of Radicondoli, in the province of Siena, Fosini estate rises. The estate consists of several farmhouses abandoned permanently in the fifties.
Edilizia Interna was responsible for the recovery of the farmhouses. Some of them were completely restored. The project was compliant with the original building requirements: external mason stone façade, intermediate attics and recovered chestnut and terracotta roof beams.
A fundamental aspect of the project was the study of the materials and techniques for the finishing works. Even in this case, the floors are in terracotta and locally recovered stones. To give the environment a well-worn look, ancient techniques were used for the plaster and internal painting.
The project included chemical treatments for the rising dampness of the old walls.
